Nearby, the Manor Hotel is a time capsule waiting to be discovered, and both hotels are noted for their food! The building housing the Allerdale Court in the Market Place has been part of the street scene for many a year and has an excellent steak house under its roof.
Still with hotels, Hundith Hill overlooking the Lorton valley promises an amazing view no matter what the weather, and The Embleton Spa has a swimming pool and great terrace to watch the world go by.
The Old Posting House, about three miles form town is a pub with rooms- look out for the old architectural features of its origins- and great pub food! We are also lucky to have a plethora of holiday cottages, bed and breakfast properties and caravan parks within easy reach of the town.
Closest to town is Wellington Farm with their glamping pods- all with hot tubs and the most amazing outlook- but watch for the peacocks that patrol the grounds! A little further out are Coldgill and Tallentire, where you will find lovely hosts, clean beds and quiet seclusion.
